Uniforms

The uniform decisions for the 55+ team are now done. In general, we are not sticklers for fashion, so it's OK to "come close" to the following ideal standards.

We're going to try to use two uniforms if we can assemble enough loaners to use both without making the new guys buy tops.

  • Trim (socks, belt, sleeves) will be black for both uniforms. (Yup, navy is close enough.) Bring your own trim items.
  • Cap should be the Atlanta Braves cap. (Navy body, red bill, white Atlanta "A"). BUY YOUR OWN CAP!!
  • Pants. We'll wear two types of pants: #1: Plain gray or gray with a single, solid black stripe. #2: White with black pinstripes. (Similar to Yankees.) Bring your own pants.
  • Tops. We'll wear two tops. #1: Purple "NORCAL" top. #2: White with black pinstripes "Antiques" top. We will supply the tops.

If you have one type of pant and don't want to buy the other type, that's OK. It might look a little odd, but that's OK. Normally, we'll wear the gray pants with the purple Norcal top, and the pinstripe pants with the pinstripe tops.

The gray pants are pretty standard; don't worry about stripes or lack thereof. (Mine have a single black stripe). The pinstripe pants are slightly tougher to find, and harder to get to match exactly. The standard Antiques pants are made by Teamwork and are white with black pins. But other brands work and so do navy pinstripes.

Denny's policy on the Antiques tops:

  • You can buy a new top for the cost of making it. Cost depends on quantity, size, and how much lead time we have. Last year's tops were $40-$45 each.
  • You can borrow a top used by a regular-season player. If you want to borrow, let Denny know the size you'll need.
  • Buy your own cap. It's the standard Atlanta Braves cap.

Clyde's policy on the Norcal tops:

  • You can buy a new top for the cost of making it. Cost depends on quantity, size, and how much lead time we have. Last year's tops were $?? each.
  • You can borrow a top used by a regular-season player. We have to check to see if we have enough. If we don't have enough, we'll decide not to use this top.

To see an example of both uniforms, check out our page that contains results of our 48+ tournament last year.
