I've been off the air on the website for quite a while. My dad died on Halloween. His death and the post-season tournaments have consumed my time for the past few months.
I attended the Norcal League's annual meeting on Saturday, December 7. During the preceeding week, I contacted many of the last year's players to get a read on what we should do next season. On the basis of those phone calls, I decided that the Antiques would not enter a team in the Norcal League in 2003. The decision was not an easy one; I have enjoyed playing in Norcal for the past 6 years as an Antique and for 14 years altogether. But it became clear that we would not have enough players for two teams and that a majority of players had a slight preference for playing in the TriValley 48+ division.
At the Norcal meeting, many teams expressed an interest in playing games with the Antiques in 2003, possibly on days other than Sunday. We'll see if that becomes possible after we get started in 2003.
